Up from the grave He arose

Tonight we were honored to celebrate the resurrection among carreer missionaries. It began with an Easter egg hunt conducted by "Dr Dave". Next we ate dinner, then 2 of the single ladies did resurrection eggs with the kids. Finally scripture was read and we sang hymns. It was really amazing to be among these saints. After some of the hymns people gave testimonies. Becky Thompson told of her last night in boarding school in Vietnam. It was Easter and they were told they would be evacuated the next day because of fighting. She said they refused to cancel the cantata though. They perfomed then changed back into jeans and continued packing. They left the next day and the boarding school never reopened. David Thompson's parents were killed in Vietnam. Carolyn told of when she was preparing to go to Cambodia. Becky's parents had recently been kidnapped there and the churches sang He Arose to strengthen these outgoing missionaries. Becky's father was never found.
These people of faith have faced tremendous obstacles, fear, and grief to serve their Lord. May we be as faithful. "Remember thoe who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct imitate their faith."Hebrews 13:7

  1. What an interesting Easter weekend adventure! It's hard to even imagine being in the jungle. We had our usual Easter dinner and egg hunt. Sounds kinda boring next to your weekend. John, Johnny and Robbie came. Johnny is improving so much. Back driving. Hope everything continues to go well. Keeping you in our prayers. Love, Linda
