God Provides Again

With a new addition on the way, our Corolla and Saturn weren't going to be big enough to accomadate three car seats in the back (we tried!). So, we were praying through the winter for a van... we didn't quite have the money to buy a decent van...
In a seemingly unconnected vein, last summer the city built a levee along the creek that runs behind our house. Apparently that creek flooded sometime over the last 100 years, so we've been having to pay flood insurance. This past summer, the Federal Emergency Management Administration amended the flood map and said that we no longer had to pay flood insurance. Once we finally got the paperwork through our insurance company, our mortgage company, and the federal government, we expected that we'd be getting a refund back for the amount we'd paid since the flood map changes went into effect-about $600.
After we had been praying about three weeks for the van, we got our refund back from our flood insurance... for $1400! Apparently the whole years' premium had been paid into our escrow, so we got a whole years' premium back!
About four days after that, we got another check in the mail, for $1600! We couldn't believe it, until we realized what God was doing-answering our prayers! The check was from our mortgage company. At first we thought maybe they were mistakenly paying back the escrowed flood premium too, but an itemized statement showed it was just an adjustment for taxes and other escrowed items, which were going to be less than expecrted.
So now, along with our tax return and the trade-in on the Saturn, we had enough to buy a van! God provided for our needs again, just like we've seen Him do before. It seems like all He requires of us is that we ask. We love our Father! He provides for our every need!
