This week, we are in Tennessee. We've come to see Jason's family and to celebrate the Feast of Booths with our friends Brandon and Tracy. The Feast of Booths, aka Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkhot, is the last of the fall feasts of the Lord mentioned in the Bible. There are 7 special times in all: Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Firstfruits, Pentecost, Feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Feast of Booths. We have come to see many places in the Old and New Testaments where these times are mentioned to Gentile believers as being important, so we believe they are important too. It seems that each of the days has at least two levels of significance-one for the Jews as a commemoration of their history with God, and a new significance given by Jesus. The The Jews still celebrate Sukkhot as a commemoration of the time Israel spent wandering in the desert before they came into what is now Israel. We see it as a celebration of when Jesus came to live among us in a human body, and as a time of looking forward to the millenia we will spend living in complete peace with God and each other.
Aside from all of that, it's a blast!
Our kids have a ball running in the fields, playing with Brandon and Tracy's kids, and climbing on stumps and fallen branches.
We have had a great time visiting with Jason's family, catching up with old friends, and making new ones, and, of course, feasting.

Looks like everybody is having a GREAT time!! I was wondering if it is warm in TN? It looks a bit chilly. I bet the kids are sleeping great with all that exercise!
